NO-GI JIU-JITSU

No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, on the other hand, is practiced without the traditional uniform, typically in athletic wear that clings to the body, like rash guards and shorts. The absence of the Gi changes the dynamic considerably; grips are limited to the body itself, such as the neck, arms, legs, and joints, leading to a faster-paced and more dynamic style of grappling. No-Gi practitioners often rely on underhooks, overhooks, and leg grips, and this style is closely related to wrestling due to the similarity in attire and available grips.

GI JIU-JITSU

Gi Jiu-Jitsu is the traditional form of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) that requires practitioners to wear a Gi, which is a heavy cotton jacket, reinforced drawstring trousers, and a belt that denotes rank. The Gi's robust fabric allows for a multitude of grips and techniques, such as collar chokes and sleeve controls, making strategy and grip fighting a significant aspect of this style. Training in Gi Jiu-Jitsu often focuses on methodical, technical maneuvers where the Gi acts as both a tool and a point of leverage.

COMPETITION JIU-JITSU

Competition Jiu-Jitsu refers to the sportive aspect of BJJ where practitioners test their skills against others in tournaments, which can be either Gi or No-Gi. Competitions are governed by a set of rules that dictate legal techniques, points, and potential penalties. The main difference in competition Jiu-Jitsu compared to regular training is the intensity and the strategic approach competitors must adopt to outscore or submit their opponents within the set time limits.
